Prizren occupies a special place in the history of the Albanian National Movement. It became the headquarters of the Albanian League of Prizren, which was founded on June 10, 1878. In Prizren, the temporary Albanian Government (1881) was headed by the well-known resident of the city, Ymer Prizreni. 

From its sensational historical past, the city of Prizren has inherited a large number of cultural-historical landmarks. The most important are: the Fountain Complex, Subfort, Marashi, the Castle, Saint Premta Church, Saint Salvation Church, Bajraklia Mosque, Safi Sinan Pasha Mosque, the City Hammams, City Crosses, the Stone Bridge, and a number of large folkloric houses of citizens inherited over the centuries. 

Peja is known as one of the oldest cities in Kosovo and is one of the most beautiful and richest cities in cultural and historical potential, as well as rare natural beauty.
