The Bear Forest is located near Badoc Lake, Pristina. The bears, which had been scattered throughout the territory of Kosovo for years, now have a refuge, and this is the Bear Forest. This forest is home to a total of 19 bears, one of which is Naja, born in 2007 in Rugova.
Naja was malnourished, having eaten restaurant food that was not suitable for her body. Now, she receives appropriate food for bears, and one of her favorite foods is cherries. Gjina, another bear, came from Bulqiza, Albania. She was born in 2019 and is now part of the Bear Forest in Pristina.
Mali, Ero, Ema, Oska, Kasandra, and Roni are other bears that live in this forest. A characteristic of these bears is that during the winter season, they do not eat and lose weight until spring. Bears can live up to 30-35 years, and in shelters, they can live even longer due to the care they receive.
A day off would be ideal for visiting this forest.
