The National Theater of Opera, Ballet, and Folk Ensemble is the temple of performing arts, music, and ballet, and the only national institution of its kind located in Tirana, Albania. 

TKOBAP was founded in November 1953 and has as its mission the preservation and development of the best values of musical and choreographic theater, Albanian and world folklore, new stage creativity, technical and professional development, the variety of interpretive and creative styles and individualities, and educating generations with the best works of musical theater, choreographic, and folkloric arts. 

The National Opera, Ballet, and Folk Ensemble Theater has about 250 stable artists in its composition, who are part of the orchestra, choir, ballet troupe, lyrical soloists, and the Folk Ensemble. In 2017, TKOBAP became a full member of Opera Europa, the highest body of European opera.
