Among the tourist attractions in Kosovo is the beautiful Lake of Radoniq. It is part of a group of artificial lakes, created in the 1980s.

The lake was named after the village that was submerged to create it. Radoniq plays a major role in supplying drinking water to approximately 214,000 inhabitants of the cities of Gjakova and Rahovec, as well as the surrounding villages.

The lake began to be filled with water for the first time in March of 1983, with the White River of Deçan and the Perua River of Ratishë being its main sources. With an area of 5.62 square kilometers and a volume of 113 million cubic meters, it is the second largest lake in Kosovo.
