FemArt is the only feminist festival in the Balkans with these international dimensions, whose purpose is to spread art, solidarity, humanity, peace, freedom, fun, joy, empathy, and empowerment. Based on the difficulties faced by women and marginalized groups in Kosovo and the region on a daily basis, and rising from these challenges by confronting and subverting the social norms that have kept them constrained across generations, the Center for Art and Community - Artpolis has been organizing the festival since 2013 to combat these issues.

This beautiful art initiative has become a platform to listen to the voices of artists and activists, and from its first edition, it took the form of a prestigious festival. The festival's mottos over the years, such as "With Freedom Against the Receiver," "Solidarity and Endurance," etc., have inspired and guided artists and activists to present their creations and raise awareness of the issues that were relevant to that year's edition. Every year, the festival brings together over 200 artists and activists to showcase their work and address the current issues of that year's edition.

In addition to the artists and activists, the festival engages 30 volunteers, young people from all communities in Kosovo, to increase youth participation in strengthening the role of women in Kosovo and the region and sharing experiences. Over the years, FemArt has collaborated with other festivals such as Etno Fest, Hapudemia, Dam Festival, Mural Fest, Dokutech, and has also been present in other cities such as Ferizaj, Mitrovica, Tirana, and others.
